Slovenia is a DOLPHINARIUM-FREE COUNTRY!
We are very PROUD of it!
"Not only is Slovenia one of the twelve EU Member States without captive dolphins, it is one of the two Member States that explicitly prohibits their display. This prohibition was passed in response to a private companys plans to develop a dolphinarium and a resolution passed by theACCOBAMS Meeting of the Parties.
ACCOBAMS has been agreed to by 29 countries for the Conservation of Whales and Dolphins in the Mediterranean and Black Sea. Its purpose is to reduce threats to cetaceans in Mediterranean and Black Sea waters and improve our knowledge of these animals.
Instead of captive animals, you can see wild bottlenose dolphins in Slovenian waters. You can keep up with the efforts by the local NGO, Morigenos, to protect and learn about these wild dolphins here."
